Won’t Get Fooled Again

I would like to say a VERY BIG THANK YOU to everyone in Amber Valley
who cast their vote for the British National Party on Thursday. You have helped us to increase our vote by 250% and secure the return of our deposit for the first time. For the other parties the deposit is no big thing, after all what’s £500 when you are getting MILLIONS in funding from mega rich donors and/or the Trade Unions? But for Amber Valley BNP who have raised our whole campaign expenditure from the generosity of local members and supporters, then the return of the deposit IS important. THANK YOU ONE AND ALL.
THE RESULT
As for the result, congratulations to Nigel Mills on his victory. Nigel is a very personable young man and I wish him well, we will just have to wait and see whether he can cut the mustard in the big league. I have no doubt he cares for Amber Valley, certainly more so than the miserable Communist he has ousted (apparently she was seen today at Alfreton Leisure Centre still demanding a recount), but my memory goes back to an earlier posting where former Tory MP Phillip Oppenheim claimed that Cameron wanted his new intake of MPs to be little more than nodding dogs, much like Blair in 1997. I fear Nigel may soon be proven to fit the bill perfectly, which may not be so good for Amber Valley.
THE COUNT
A very enjoyable but tiring time at the count(s). Peter Carney, as Returning Officer, showed considerable restraint when confronted with Labours Mallaber demanding two recounts even though she was 600 votes behind. Then to cap it all, her and her agent wasted even more time bitching over a couple of disputed ballots. Mr Carney did make me smile however when Mallaber and Co rather petulantly disputed his decision to allow a ballot paper with a doubtful mark near the Tory candidate. Having let them argue the toss, he then laid down another ballot paper with a similarly doubtful Labour mark and, with a deadpan expression, asked if she would like him to reject that! The words face and egg-on immediately sprung to mind!
THE MEDIA
A friendly reception from the media, with interviews given to Sky News, Derby Telegraph and The Ripley and Heanor News. The only exception, sadly, was Wesley Mallin from Ambersound Radio who was transmitting live reports from the count. Wesley, for the most part is very professional as Ambersounds Newsman, but I feel he let himself down, and more importantly, Ambersounds audience down, by completely blanking out the BNP. Maybe it was a personal reason for his reluctance to include the BNP viewpoint, after all I had been allowed two interviews in the run up to polling day when broadcasters have to obey strict rules on impartiality, but once the polls close those rules no longer apply. However, whatever his reason, the end result is he may have scored a minor personal victory but he did Ambersounds listeners a great disservice. WESLEY MALLIN 1 – AMBERSOUND LISTENERS NIL.
Fortunately not everyone at Ambersound is as small minded. Taking a short break from the counting tables I went over to their mobile studio where I was given an insight into the intricacies of taking a brief interview from the microphone, putting it onto the computer, editing it, sending it to base and transmitting over the airwaves – a process that takes just a few minutes. For a technophobe such as me, it was quite bewildering, but very impressive. Ambersound can be found on 107.2 FM – it is a community radio station that gets a massive audience of 20,000 listeners – why don’t you give them a try.
One final point on the media. At a national level, I believe the media let the British public down. Cleggs meteoric rise in the polls following his ‘satisfactory performance’ in the Leaders Debates, suggests the public are desperately looking for alternatives to the old gang Tory/Labour corruption. The national media should have grasped the nettle and provided people with more coverage of the smaller parties so that the people could make a more objective decision, as opposed to the X Factor beauty parade.
The Greens, UKIP and of course the BNP would all have benefitted from more balanced coverage, and I’m sure viewing figures would have increased. I’m interested in politics, but I couldn’t cope with the wall to wall blandness, and ended up turning off many times. Do we really need to know what Camerons missus is wearing today? Or if Brown has been to the loo?
THE FUTURE – Won’t Get Fooled Again
The future could be very bright for the BNP. Much of the positive feedback has come from new and (in a lot of cases) surprising sources. People from all walks of life are waking up to what the Establishment Parties are doing to our country, and they are increasingly looking to the BNP as the only viable alternative. Now that the immigration genie is out of the bottle and the LibLabCon have promised to do something about it I can see more and more people becoming disillusioned. All of their promises combined won’t make a blind bit of difference to the feeling that we are being colonised. This is not the amount of immigration that people are comfortable with, and nothing much will change, except of course the lies will become ever more unbelievable.
And that my friends allows me the indulgence of sharing some music from my favourite band……. The Who – Won’t Get Fooled Again

I feel that one day in the not too distant future you, Mick, will be at the forefront of politics in Amber Valley.
The media circus with the 'top three' parties was a way of distracting from parties like ours. We learn and we grow from it.
Thank YOU for being there for all us BNP supporters, members and candidates XX

Well done in the election, BNP seem to have come 4th a lot round here. (Erewash, Derbyshire Mid, Loughborough, etc.). In fact we came fourth in over 150 seats. To me, 4th means 1st after LibLabCon – i.e. favourite after those con artists. Thanks for that version of We Won't Get Fooled Again – it is a stunning one, hadn't seen it before.
