Local LibLabCon Watch (or should that be LabConDem Watch?)

MP’s swear, affirm, pledge, erm take an Oath
Yesterday, newly elected MP’s were sworn into parliament, all of them have to make an Oath pledging their loyalty to Queen and country. A simple matter you would think? Wrong, in politically correct Britain even that’s an over complicated matter. Each member can choose to swear on a huge variety of holy books that are all made available in the Commons, and if a new MP dares not swear on the Bible (or their chosen Holy Book), they can choose to make a slightly different oath with no religious reference. The whole process takes forever and because everyone is signing-up as they please, to what they want, instead of to one common oath it’s no wonder that Westminster is full of traitors? No doubt some have broken their oath already by conspiring to hand more sovereign power to Europe.
MP’s we will be monitoring every time they speak are Nigel Mills (Amber Valley) and all MP’s bordering our area. We will let you know if they’re not acting in your interest, so you have the opportunity to lobby them.
Judy Mallaber watches longingly as New Mayor is appointed to Amber Valley
At the same time that Nigel Mills MP was being sworn in at Westminster, at Amber Valley Borough Council the Annual General Meeting (AGM) took place. Obviously the new Tory MP can’t be in two places at once, and was not in attendance. However someone I’ve never seen at a local council meeting before, and did not expect to ever see again, no longer in Westminster was slouched in the public Gallery. It was non other than Judy Mallaber (former Communist Party member and ex-MP), I thought ‘what’s she doing here?’ Then I clicked, after the new Mayor and Deputy Mayor are appointed at the AGM, the Council put a buffet on, she must have been there for the free food. Unsurprisingly she stuffed her face afterwards plonking herself near the sausage rolls. Without being able to claim free food on parliamentary expenses anymore this is probably the only gig she can get!
The AGM sets the council up for the ensuing year, the new Mayor is appointed, now Alan Cox who will chair meetings and be the public face of the Council for the next year. Ron Ashton who has a very genuine grounded personality was appointed Deputy Mayor. This meeting also appoints people to committees and outside boards. It’s quite a formal affair and allows for a bit more pomp and gesture than normal meetings, which is quite nice. It is good to see some old traditions being upheld and enjoyed, such as the Mayor wearing full traditional red Mayoral coat and a hat that resembles that of a pirate.
“Orwellian thought-policing” in the Tory Party
Interestingly and whilst we’re still on LabConDem watch, I came across this snippet from Roger Helmer (East Midlands Tory MEP). The CON artists that are the Tories are a completely different breed in Europe, to the point where they sound like BNP MEP’s. Maybe Roger (and his mate Phil for that matter) would be better off joining the BNP if they don’t like David Cameron’s Orwellian thought-policing. This is what Roger Helmer MEP has to say on the matter;
“…the outrageous treatment of a Conservative candidate: Philip Lardner is a friend of mine, and was Conservative Candidate for North Ayrshire and Arran. He is also, as it happens, the Freedom Association’s point man for Scotland. Yet he was dumped by the Party as its candidate, during the course of the campaign. His offence, it appears, was to say that while all citizens should have equal rights, he personally, as a Christian teacher, was not prepared to teach homosexuality to the children in his charge. To discipline a man for the simple expression of a conscientious view goes beyond mere political correctness. It amounts to extraordinary intolerance. It is positively Orwellian thought-policing, and we should be ashamed of it. One wonders if the Party would have taken the same action if a Muslim candidate had expressed a similar view”

I'm suprised to hear Ms Mallaber near the sausage rolls, I'd heard she has an aversion to sausage!. Oh well, never mind. I guess she has to settle for whatever scraps she can get these days.
As for Roger…. welcome to the real world!.
